As 2024 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on an incredible year at Campspot. From groundbreaking product launches to industry recognition and community milestones, this year has been filled with achievements that have shaped the way campgrounds and their guests experience the outdoors. Join us as we look back on Campspot’s top ten moments of 2024—a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and the impact we’ve made together in the world of outdoor hospitality.
As the largest software provider to campground owners in the industry, we’re able to analyze booking patterns, market shifts, and industry trends in order to help individual parks stay ahead and make informed decisions. Our new monthly guide to informed campground management, the Data Dig, provides campgrounds with exclusive insights from anonymized and aggregated campground data powered by Campspot Analytics. Developed in partnership with OHI—the report also includes ideas and data derived directly from the field, provided by OHI members. This revolutionary suite of dashboards in Campspot Analytics provides campground operators with insights into future occupancy, revenue, and booking trends for the next 30 days to 12 months. By analyzing historical data on future bookings, campgrounds can better understand demand patterns and adjust their strategies to optimize occupancy and revenue. Key metrics like average daily rate (ADR), occupancy, booking pace, and more, help operators make proactive adjustments to pricing, promotions, and reservation policies. Future Trends allows parks on Campspot to gain deeper visibility into their performance compared to competitors, ultimately enabling smarter decision-making.
At Campspot, 2024 was “the year of the integration.” We worked hard to deliver highly-requested integrations with industry-leading partners, all with the goal of helping you save time, streamline your workflows, and connect with more of the tools that power your business.
We helped campgrounds enhance their restaurant and retail operations with two Lightspeed integrations, as well as an integration with a third POS, Cinchio Solutions, which enables wristband payments. We also set our sights on improving our OTA integrations with several enhancements and new features, but the most anticipated OTA improvement was possibly the direct integration with Airbnb. The RemoteLock integration makes it easier for guests to access gated areas on site and the Wild Energy integration helps to streamline utility metering operations. We also released an accounting integration allowing campgrounds to connect Campspot directly with four different accounting softwares. and to help support campgrounds’ marketing and communications efforts, we released an integration with the industry leading CRM, Hubspot.
With such a robust suite of integrations available, we wanted to make these connections accessible to all, and we reconfigured our pricing to offer most integrations for just $10/month.
We held our first ever multi-session online learning event— Camp Campspot—in June, to help campgrounds pause, evaluate, reset, and make the most of the busy summer months. Campspot customers were invited to attend all four of our learning sessions, while non-customers were invited to attend a special afternoon session open to all! Our first 100 registrants also received an exclusive Camp Campspot notebook as a thank you for participating. Session topics included:

To help our customers thrive and to provide an opportunity to ask live questions, we started hosting new Live Workshops, exclusive to Campspot users. Led by Campspot team members of various areas of expertise, these sessions allowed users to deep dive on particular subject areas, grow more adept at using various features, and ask questions in real time in order to quickly get up to speed. In November, we were thrilled to host Campspot Casino Night at OHCE. Industry professionals gathered for a memorable night of games, networking, and some friendly competition. Two players walked away with $500 in prizes each and every attendee received an exclusive printed copy of the 2025 Occupancy Outlook—an exclusive printed copy of The Data Dig. What we love most, however, is that it’s always so energizing when we get to gather in person with campgrounds, partners, and friends.
We understand that the camping business can be around-the-clock work and we’re happy to be right there with you anytime, day or night. In May we started our 24/7 support and have enjoyed being there for you whether it’s a peak season rush or a quiet off-season night. We’re available via form submission, email, or chat 24/7 and via phone 73 hours a week. To help enhance and expand the guest self-service experience, early on in 2024 we introduced mobile check-in to our Campspot app. All year long campers have been able to easily complete check-in and related tasks directly from their mobile devices. Check-in tasks done in-app include signing T&Cs, paying balances, and providing additional required information. This convenient feature is available 24 hours prior to check-in and provides guests with a seamless and independent arrival experience. Between the mobile app and regular online check-ins, we saw over 600,000 reservation check-ins completed by guests online in 2024. We can’t wait to see what 2025 holds as campers continue to become more aware of and empowered by the self-service tools available to them.
This staple in our annual calendar of promotional campaigns helps to lift average booking value and attract new customers to parks. In 2024 we saw the average booking value of reservations on the Campspot Marketplace was 57% higher for participating parks than non-participating parks, and through its press coverage Biggest Booking Week reached 142 Million readers. All in all, it’s a smash hit and we love giving parks the chance to go big during one of our biggest booking weeks every year.
The total solar eclipse of April 8, 2024 was a monumental event for both astronomy enthusiasts and the campground industry. With the path of totality sweeping across the United States, campgrounds in prime viewing locations experienced unprecedented demand as travelers flocked to witness this rare celestial phenomenon. For campground owners and operators, it was an incredible opportunity to showcase their sites, host unforgettable events, and engage with a diverse audience of campers. From eclipse-themed packages to community viewing parties, the industry embraced this once-in-a-lifetime event, turning it into a celebration of nature, connection, and the great outdoors. To help campgrounds prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime event, we created several resources and also hosted astronomy expert Douglas Arion of Mountain of Stars to speak to campgrounds on the specifics of what they could do to not only prepare, but to leverage this moment as a revenue-driving opportunity. We also created a camper-facing landing page that clearly organized Campspot campgrounds in the path of totality to help campers find a place to enjoy the eclipse near them.
Though the eclipse occurred on a single day in April—the opportunities for campground owners to leverage celestial events didn’t end there.
